The official origin label of Norway
The Made in Norway label designates products and services that are authentically Norwegian. It is a registered trademark administered by Innovation Norway, the official Norwegian trade promotion organisation. To use the label, companies must fulfil criteria pertaining to origin, responsibility and sustainability.

Building on Norway’s strengths
Norway is known for its natural beauty, for its commitment to responsible business practice and sustainability, and for high quality. The Made in Norway label was established to capitalise on these positive associations and enhance the competitiveness of Norwegian products and services on the international market.
Criteria for using the origin label
To be eligible to use the Made in Norway label, companies must fulfil the following criteria:
- The product or service satisfies the origin requirements.
- The company conducts risk assessments to avoid adverse impacts on people, society and the environment resulting from its operations.
- The company has an internal control system in place for responsibly handling any identified risk of adverse impacts on people, society and the environment.
- The company has ethical guidelines.
- The product or service contributes to advancing at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals without causing any significant harm in relation to the six environmental objectives of the EU Taxonomy.
