Omgi sees international potential with Made in Norway label

Omgi builds and delivers designer cabins developed in collaboration with the renowned design studio Snøhetta.

The pre-built design cabins leave minimal footprints in nature and have now been awarded the Made in Norway origin label.

Omgi cabins are constructed in Våle, Telemark, utilising local partners and Norwegian suppliers.

Omgi being granted the Made in Norway label signifies that we deliver much more than an eco-friendly cabin concept. It emphasises our commitment to Norwegian value creation, with our cabins designed and delivered using local products and skilled partners, while seamlessly blending into the environment.

Omgi sees international potential with Made in Norway label

Omgi is a Norwegian company that manufactures and delivers pre-built, modern and functional cabins designed by the renowned design studio Snøhetta. Recently, the cabins were awarded the origin label Made in Norway for their Norwegian origin and value creation.

Omgi's cabins are being built in Våle in Telemark with local partners and Norwegian suppliers. They leave a minimal footprint on the environment, as they in practice can be removed without leaving visible interventions in nature.

Motivation for using the Made in Norway label

Omgi sees Norway’s official origin label, Made in Norway, as a prestigious quality stamp that aligns with their high-end profile. With great ambitions beyond national borders, the company believes that linking their brand to Norwegian origin and the positive associations tied to Norway will enhance their opportunities for global growth.

The importance of origin in Omgi's market

Omgi offers innovative products in an exciting niche segment with its Snøhetta-designed cabins. The company believes the timing is highly relevant for focusing on nature-based tourism and cabins with a small and gentle footprint in nature.

As a relatively young company, Omgi considers it a great recognition to be among the first companies in Norway granted the Made in Norway label. They expect to see the full synergy effects of the origin label in a few years, but report that the response after being granted the labeling scheme has been overwhelming.

The Managing Director of Omgi, Aziz Chaer, states:

"Being able to bring a Norwegian product with a certified and trademarked label to international markets enhances our positioning significantly. Norway's reputation for high-quality, responsibly produced products gives us a competitive edge. We are confident that this association will be a key strength as we expand globally."

Incorporating the label

Omgi views being part of a community that enlighten Norwegian design, quality, and production through a shared origin label as crucial factors for success in its segment. The company will incorporate the origin label into its marketing strategy, embellishing the cabins with a 'Made in Norway' sign made of Norwegian steel, which will be attached to each cabin.
