Published 26 Jan 2026 · 2 min read

Amidst some of the world’s most dramatic and rugged mountain peaks, the dream of helping people to sleep better was born.

With a strong focus on research-based product development, Wonderland set out to provide people with world-class sleeping comfort – combining Norwegian craftsmanship, technology, and sustainability.

Now, Wonderland has been officially certified with the Made in Norway label.

The Made in Norway label is our promise of Norwegian origin and future value creation in Norway.

Deep sleep – designed in Norway since 1969

Since 1969, Wonderland has been producing beds in Åndalsnes, in the heart of the Romsdalen valley. With a clear focus on sustainable development, the company has built a unique network of local suppliers, ensuring efficient local production.

Today, Wonderland operates one of the most advanced bed factories in the world, equipped with state-of-the-art robotics and fully automated production lines.

“We are committed to sustainable development through careful selection of materials and production methods that reduce our environmental footprint. Our beds are built to last – designed to ensure the best possible foundation for healthy sleep and a better life,” says Kurt-Arild Dahle.

Collaboration is the key to success

Norway is recognised for its stability, responsibility, transparency and integrity – qualities that make Made in Norway a trusted label for customers worldwide. Wonderland believes in the power of collaboration and in building a strong shared identity around Norwegian design and manufacturing excellence.

“This is important both in our home market and in our export markets. Our hope is that together we can build a strong and recognisable identity around Norwegian design,” says Dahle.

Expanding into new export markets

Wonderland beds are currently sold via major furniture retailers in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, as well as to hotels, offshore installations and the maritime sector.

“Customer surveys show that ‘Norwegian-made’ is a valued quality – both in Norway and in several of our export markets. As we continue to expand across Europe, the Made in Norway label will play a key role in our positioning,” says Dahle.

Making Norwegian origin visible

Wonderland plans to feature the Made in Norway label prominently across its products and digital platforms, ensuring strong visibility in retail environments.

“We are developing new in-store and digital materials to highlight our Norwegian origin, including short films from our production and product range for use in stores and on social media,” says Dahle.
