Paxster has been producing small electric vehicles in Sarpsborg since 2012, and has been recognised with the official Made in Norway label. With over 4 000 vehicles on the road in Europe, Paxster is the largest Norwegian vehicle manufacturer of all time.
Paxster started by developing 100 per cent bespoke vehicles for post, newspaper and parcel distribution, but has now expanded its range with a new range of electric commercial vehicles. These are designed to simplify mobility and transportation for an ever-widening market.
The new electric commercial vehicles from Paxster have a convenient loading platform and are ideal for municipalities, park and city maintenance, golf courses, industrial areas, ports and similar applications.
In Paxster’s experience, manufacturing its electric vehicles in Norway provides a clear advantage, both in the Norwegian and the international market.
“Norway is leading the way in electrification in Europe, and at Paxster, we are proud to be part of this movement. Our products reflect the country’s commitment to clean energy and high quality. Carrying the Made in Norway label allows us to showcase these strengths to customers worldwide and reinforces our position at the forefront of sustainable mobility,” says Cathrine Lund, Senior Marketing Advisor at Paxster
Paxster currently competes with a range of international companies, including several Chinese companies, each with their own unique characteristics. As a Norwegian manufacturer, Paxster does not compete on price, but rather on the values inherent in Norwegian origin, such as quality and responsible production throughout the entire value chain.
“Most European countries, with the exception of Norway, are lagging behind when it comes to electrification. This is a challenge for us as a manufacturer, as we have to compete with fossil-fuelled and often cheaper alternatives,” explains Lund.
“We hope that international markets will eventually introduce incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles, as Norway has done for many years.”
When it comes to electrification, the rest of Europe lags is looking to Norway. Accordingto Paxster, having an official origin label on Norwegian products can further strengthen the credibility of Norwegian manufacturers in international markets.
Lund continues: “We at Paxster are incredibly proud to be at the forefront and to use such a quality label. We hope and believe it will be a strong advantage for us in the face of competition across Europe. As a relatively small company, we also have work to do in building trust in the market and ensuring that choosing us is a safe choice. Here, the Made in Norway label plays a central role.”
