Batteries are playing an essential role in the global transition from fossil fuels to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
Vianode’s vision is to help battery and electric vehicle manufacturers to minimise their carbon footprint, thereby helping to mitigate global climate challenges.
Using Vianode’s advanced anode graphite allows manufacturers to cut CO₂ emissions from battery production — efficiently, effectively and uncompromisingly.
“Vianode’s vision is to lead the battery industry toward net-zero emissions through our advanced anode graphite solutions.”
Andreas Forfang
VP Sustainability & Public Affairs of Vianode
Vianode is a leading provider of advanced battery materials, delivering sustainable anode graphite solutions to the battery and electric vehicle value chains across Europe and North America.
With climate change accelerating, Vianode’s vision is to help battery and EV manufacturers to significantly reduce their carbon footprint.
By choosing Vianode’s graphite, manufacturers can lower CO₂ emissions from battery production in the most efficient and future-ready way possible.
“Our breakthrough technology enables tailored, high-performance synthetic anode graphite, combined with a comprehensive sustainability offering – including up to a 90 per cent reduction in CO₂ footprint,” says Andreas Forfang.
Batteries are vital to the global energy transition as the world moves away from fossil fuels. Today, nearly all synthetic anode graphite is produced in Asia, typically generating up to 30 kg of CO₂ per kilogram of graphite.
Vianode has developed a proprietary production technology over the past decade that enables the production of high-performance anode graphite with an ultra-low carbon footprint — just 1.9 kg CO₂ per kilogram.
“That’s why we’re proud to highlight that our product is made in Norway – standing in stark contrast to conventional graphite production and enabled by world-class talent, technological expertise, and access to clean, renewable energy,” says Forfang.
Vianode targets battery manufacturers and OEMs committed to developing high-performance, sustainable EV batteries. By producing synthetic anode graphite in Norway, Vianode delivers not only exceptional quality, but also a robust and transparent supply chain — a factor of growing importance in today’s battery and mobility industries.
“With our proprietary closed furnace technology, low energy consumption and use of green power, we’re setting a new standard for sustainable manufacturing,” Forfang points out.
The Made in Norway mark will appear on every bulk bag of synthetic anode graphite leaving the Via ONE plant at Herøya — a clear signal to customers that Vianode is committed to building a resilient, transparent battery material supply chain in Europe and North America.
