With roots dating back to 1934, Ekornes has long been a major player in the Norwegian furniture industry. The company operates five production facilities in Norway and has a global presence in 48 markets.
With well-known brands such as Stressless® and Svane®, the company has in recent years achieved an annual turnover of nearly NOK 5 billion.
“We are proud to have represented innovative Norwegian design and manufacturing since 1934," says Guri Brennhovd.

Ekornes is proud to have received the official Made in Norway label. It is an important recognition for both employees and customers in Norway, but especially also internationally.
In markets where the company is present – such as the US, Germany and the UK – Norwegian origin has held significant value for several years. Recently, the Anholt Nation Brand Index was published, showing that Norway once again ranks among the most respected countries in the world.
“Norway enjoys a strong international reputation as a country known for high quality, sustainability and reliability. Being able to link our products to this in a documented way is undoubtedly a great strength – and it provides reassurance to consumers during the purchasing process,” says Brennhovd.

In a market defined by intense competition, price pressure and discount-driven choices, Ekornes is an attractive alternative. While many competitors produce in high volumes in low-cost countries – often at the expense of product range, quality and transparency around production – Ekornes takes a different approach.
“We believe it is essential to offer consumers real choice when investing in a high-value product such as furniture. Customers should feel confident in their decision, and the Made in Norway label is a clear symbol of that trust,” says Brennhovd.

In addition to featuring the Made in Norway label on in-store materials, Ekornes will also incorporate it across digital platforms, in user guides, at trade fairs, and in other consumer-facing activities. Ekornes is proud to carry the Made in Norway label as a mark of quality and heritage.
