Stoneart natural slate
Stoneart’s slate slabs are handcrafted to each client’s specifications, using time-honoured Norwegian traditions. Traditionally, slate has been worked on site. Stoneart has instead created a dedicated production environment in Otta, providing good working conditions and enabling efficient use of the raw material. Bringing skilled craftspeople together in one workplace also creates a valuable learning environment, helping preserve and develop Norwegian craftsmanship for the future. Its location close to the slate deposits reduces transport from the quarry. Producing prefabricated, made-to-measure solutions before delivery reduces transport to the client by 15–30% and eliminates the need to transport surplus material and offcuts after installation. Stoneart’s quality assurance processes also enable these made-to-measure flagstones to be supplied to markets worldwide.
