Stoneart natural slate
Stoneart natural slate is a handicraft product made according to the client’s specifications. The slate is processed based on good Norwegian craft traditions. While slate work has traditionally been carried out on site, Stoneart has built an environment in Otta to be able to carry out the craft under good working conditions and with high utilization of raw materials. Performing the craft in a workshop rather than many construction sites also provides a good learning environment and the opportunity to preserve and further develop craft traditions. Location near the slate deposits reduces transport from the quarry. By making finished tailored solutions, transport to the client is reduced by 15 to 30%, and transport of surplus/cutoffs after installation is eliminated. Stoneart has a quality assurance system that ensures the finished solutions produced to client specifications can be sold in all markets.
