Along the scenic southeastern coast of Norway, in the town of Svelvik, Jensen has been dedicated to your dream sleep since 1947.
At Jensen Beds, craftsmanship has been passed down through generations – always driven by the same question: How do we give people the best possible sleep quality?
Because great sleep doesn’t just define your night. It makes your day.
“We are proud of our roots – and we never forget them. Our factory is still located in Svelvik, and we take great pride in the fact that every bed and mattress bearing our name is the result of true passion and craftsmanship.”

Along the southeast coast of Norway, just outside Oslo and overlooking the majestic Drammen Fjord, lies Svelvik. It was here, just two years after the end of the Second World War, that the Jensen family began making furniture.
Materials were scarce in 1947, but their ambitions were high. From the very first mattresses, the goal was clear: to offer everyone who chose a Jensen bed the very best in sleep quality.
“That commitment has never changed. With knowledge passed down through generations, we’ve earned the trust of customers far beyond our home in Norway,” says Jan Trygve Jensen.
Norway is known for stability, responsibility, transparency and integrity. The Made in Norway mark highlights and communicates Norwegian origin – and the values that come with it. It signals that choosing Norwegian means choosing trust and reliability.
“The reason we joined Made in Norway is to leverage the country’s strong global reputation across key values – as well as Norway’s natural advantages and the positive associations the world holds with our nation. Made in Norway reinforces our identity as a company, strengthens our culture, and adds value to every product we make,” says Jensen.
In many ways, the market for Jensen Beds can be divided into two distinct segments: the domestic Norwegian market, and the international markets to which they export.
“In the domestic market, Made in Norway strengthens consumer loyalty toward Norwegian products, for those to whom origin matters. In export markets, the label gives us a distinct identity and a more unique position,” says Jensen.
How Jensen Beds will showcase its Made in Norway certification is still a work in progress—but one thing is certain: the company carries its Norwegian heritage with pride.
“We are proud of our roots – and we never forget them. Our factory is still located in Svelvik, and we take great pride in the fact that every bed and mattress bearing our name is the result of true passion and craftsmanship,” concludes Jensen.
