Norvigroup Norsk Dun: Made in Norway

Norvigroup Norsk Dun delivers Norwegian quality for the global textile industry

Norvigroup Norsk Dun is Norway’s largest manufacturer and supplier of down duvets and pillows.

The company with factory, showroom and warehouse located in Mysen, Norway, have been granted the right to use the official origin label of Norway, Made in Norway.

Norsk Dun believes that the origin label will contribute to increased visibility related to responsibility and production in Norway in both the domestic and the international market.

We have long communicated that we produce in Norway in a highly competitive industry. Nevertheless, many people are still unaware of this. Made in Norway will contribute to increased awareness of Norwegian production across industries, both nationally and internationally.

Norvigroup Norsk Dun delivers Norwegian quality for the textile market

Norvigroup Norsk Dun has established itself as Norway’s leading manufacturer and supplier of down duvets and pillows. With its own factory, showroom and warehouse in Mysen, the company specialises in the design and development of textile products within the bedding category.

The company has now been granted the Made in Norway label, which underscores its position as a manufacturer of genuinely Norwegian products.

Motivation for using the Made in Norway label

Norvigroup Norsk Dun’s commitment to using the Made in Norway label on its products puts Norwegian origin in the textile industry on the agenda. The labelling scheme provides a clear and credible signal to the market and strengthens the company’s position as a Norwegian manufacturer.

Norvigroup Norsk Dun has been an enthusiastic leader in the development of the Made in Norway label since it was introduced as part of the Government export reform in 2022.

The company believes that being part of the Norwegian export national team will help to build strong and clear communication about Norwegian production in a market where textile goods are mostly imported from Asia.

The importance of origin in the textile market

Norway is currently Norvigroup Norsk Dun’s largest market, where it holds a strong position. However, its competitors in the market often import textiles that are sold under Norwegian product names and brands.

Kari Setsaas elaborates: “With the Made in Norway label, we at Norvigroup Norsk Dun want to clarify that our products are produced in Norway, thus simplifying the shopping experience for customers at home and abroad who want to choose Norwegian.”

Incorporating the label

Norvigroup Norsk Dun has long communicated that it contributes significantly to Norwegian value creation by creating local manufacturing jobs in a highly competitive industry. Still, the company finds that many people are unaware of this.

They believe that consistent use of the Made in Norway origin label, both in its own branding and via a unified export team, will raise awareness of value creation associated with Norwegian authenticity, sustainability and responsible local production.

The company has found that using the Made in Norway label on its products and digital platforms is making it easier to strengthen its position as a leading player in the Norwegian textile industry.
