PSW Power & Automation provides self-developed software solutions for energy control and energy optimalisation.
The energy industry is undergoing a major transformation, driven by decarbonisation, electrification and increased demand for flexibility in energy consumption and production.
Integrating renewable energy sources, managing energy loads, and preventing grid overload are growing challenges for both utilities and private companies. At the same time, many energy systems remain fragmented and underutilised, especially when it comes to battery energy storage systems (BESS).
PSW Power & Automation (PSW) delivers advanced control systems, software platforms, and integration technologies for both mobile and stationary BESS, as well as shore power systems for ships and cruise vessels. The solutions are modular, scalable, and tailored to maximise the technical and commercial value of energy assets.
The solutions enable customers to optimise energy use, avoid grid overload, and participate in balancing and local flexibility markets. The company offers co-location control systems for renewable energy and BESS projects, ensuring efficient use of shared grid connections.
Three main components comprise the solutions. First, the Energy Management System (EMS) can integrate individual entities or large complex systems, providing safe and reliable operation in all modes while balancing energy produced, stored, and consumed. With its data insights, the EMS enables power transfer to EV charging units and peak shaving, and it can leverage the best economic outcome between store, trade or use.
Second, the Asset Management System (AMS) collects and transmits data to all connected assets and orchestrates all single entities of assets to convene their capabilities for use in the energy and/or balancing markets. Meanwhile, the Asset Hub is an asset dashboard that displays key figures for asset status and health.
The technology helps customers to increase energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and unlock new revenue streams through market participation. Environmentally, the systems support higher integration of renewable energy and reduce the need for fossil backup solutions.
By preventing grid overload and enabling smart energy use, the solutions contribute to a more stable and sustainable energy system. In addition, the flexible software architecture allows customers to evolve their systems as new needs and opportunities emerge.
The global energy storage market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by the increasing demand for renewable energy and grid stability solutions. The market is expected to grow from an estimated USD 58.9 billion in 2024 to USD 204.8 billion by 2033, with a CAGR of 14.8 per cent.
PSW Power & Automation is already a key player in this market with customers worldwide. In addition to its energy control solutions, PSW Power & Automation provides energy storage solutions, shore power systems and energy modules.
