Welcome to Norway Days at EXPO 2025 in Japan!

Norway Day at EXPO 2025 in Osaka is bringing together key government and business representatives from Japan and Norway, to celebrate the long-term partnership in a range of areas. This also coincides with celebrations of 120 years of diplomatic relations. Under the theme “Pioneering a sustainable future – together”, events will feature seminars and networking sessions both at the Nordic pavilion at EXPO in Osaka as well as in Tokyo. Business dialogue will cover seafood supply, renewable energy developments, securing critical infrastructure at sea as well as diversity and equality in society and business. The delegation is lead by Espen Barth Eide, Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs travelling together with Ragnhild Sjoner Syrstad, State Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.

Event details

Norway Day in Osaka will take place at the EXPO area. The official ceremony will mark the opening of Norway day, with flag-raising og Norway and Japan and greetings by high-level representatives of both countries, while the business dialogue event and reception will be at the Nordic pavilion. Sessions at the pavilion will be consecutive in the same venue and with simultaneous interpretation.

Transportation from Osaka to Tokyo:
Train Osaka-Tokyo, Shinkansen, approx. 2hrs 30 min

Norway Day in Tokyo will take place at Hotel Gajoen in Meguro, a central part of the city. Sessions will be taking place in parallel, all with simultaneous interpretation. All sessions will gather for a joint seafood reception.

Practical information

The following hotels are recommended in Tokyo, near the event venue Hotel Gajoen:

  • Shinagawa Prince Hotel Right across the street from Shinagawa Station, with direct access to the Shinkansen and Haneda Airport
  • JR-EAST HOTEL METS PREMIER GOTANDA Located at Gotanda station, which is between Shinagawa and Meguro station.
  • Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo directly connected to Tokyo Station.
