The HighLift by Olvondo™ recycles waste heat or district heating into clean, high-temperature process steam or heat.
CHALLENGE
High‑temperature heat and steam are essential for many industrial processes. Today, this demand is still largely met by ossil‑fuel‑fired boilers that generate emissions and cannot make use of valuable waste heat. Energy that has already been paid for is lost, while costs and climate impact continue to rise.
SOLUTION
The HighLift by Olvondo™ heat pump recovers waste heat or district heating and recycles it into high‑temperature process heat or steam. The technology increases process heat temperatures by more than 100 °C and can also deliver steam at temperatures of up to 200 °C.
Uniquely, HighLift uses helium as its working medium. Helium is non‑toxic, non‑flammable and has a global warming potential (GWP) of zero, ensuring safe, eco-friendly operations in all types of industrial applications.

BENEFITS
By replacing electric, oil and gas-fired electric boilers, the HighLift heat pump reduces industrial CO₂ emissions. It also cuts operational costs by using energy that has already been generated in the form of waste heat.
In comparison with conventional alternatives, steam generation from a single HighLift heat pump reduces CO2 emissions by close to 1 300 metric tons annually – equivalent to CO2 emissions from approximately 800 private cars.
As an added benefit, HighLift also provides cooling, making the solution particularly attractive for industries with combined heating and cooling needs, such as the food industry.
MARKET POTENTIAL
The uptake of high‑temperature heat pumps (HTHP) in industry is still limited, mainly due to the lack of equipment capable of delivering temperatures above 100 °C. However, the potential is substantial. In Europe alone, an estimated 174 TWh, or 8.7 per cent of industrial heat demand, could be supplied by heat pumps for temperatures up to 150 °C.
Key markets for the HighLift by Olvondo™ heat pump include the process industry, dairy production and other industries with high steam consumption.
Olvondo Technology has signed a long-term distributor agreement with TetraPak for the European market.
