From homes to large professional facilities, built environments increasingly demand adaptable communication with minimal environmental impact. Dory meets this need with flexible e-paper signs designed for long life and constant change.
CHALLENGE
Physical door and information signs have seen little innovation over time. They are often difficult or impossible to edit, lack personality and are frequently discarded when information changes – over 200 million household signs alone each year. This leads to unnecessary material waste, added costs and inflexible communication in homes and professional environments that increasingly require adaptability.
SOLUTION
Dory is a flexible e-paper sign designed for built environments where information evolves. Using ultra-low-energy e-ink technology, the sign can operate for up to 15 years on a single battery, without wiring or constant charging.
The sign is easily mounted using a small bracket and can be displayed in either portrait or landscape format. Content is updated via a companion app, allowing users to change messages, schedules or graphics instantly. A global network of creative partners provides ready-made designs, while users can also upload their own visuals.
CalmTech™ certified, Dory is designed to communicate without distraction, light pollution or visual noise. The sign is aesthetic as well, and has been awarded the European Product Design Award 2025.

BENEFITS
Dory replaces disposable signage with a long-lasting, adaptable alternative. For households, it enables personal communication – from welcoming guests to planning everyday life.
In professional built environments, Dory transforms the economics of dynamic communication. By adding a calm, flexible layer to existing infrastructure, it enables spaces to adapt and evolve without the need for constant physical updates. From short-term rentals and hotels to care facilities and offices, Dory helps businesses to keep environments relevant, while improving wayfinding in complex, high-traffic locations such as campuses and transport hubs.”
By virtually eliminating battery replacement, Dory signs reduce material waste, energy use and operational costs.
MARKET POTENTIAL
There are an estimated 63 billion doors worldwide, with around 7.2 billion identified as suitable use cases/total addressable market for Dory’s solution. The company is initially targeting 20 million doors as its serviceable obtainable market.
Dory’s ambition is to replace static signage globally, starting with doors in both homes and professional environments – a natural and accessible entry point.
With an integrated hardware and software platform, Dory is set to expand across physical environments, with hospitality and healthcare as its first key sectors.
