Positioned as the world's second-largest market, the UK stands out as a global leader in offshore wind energy, with over 13.7GW installed across 40+ sites.

The sector is set for robust expansion, with an additional 77 gigawatts in the pipeline across 80 projects in various stages, including construction, consented development, and planning for seabed leasing auctions.

The government's ambitious target of achieving 50GW of offshore wind by 2030, with 5GW utilising floating technology, underscores the commitment to sustainable energy.

The UK boasts one of the most sophisticated commercial pipelines, exemplified by the recent ScotWind leasing round, which allocated 25GW to both floating and fixed bottom wind projects. Enhancing this, the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plays a pivotal role in streamlining processes, implementing planning reforms that have significantly reduced approval times for new offshore wind farms from four years to just one year.

Additionally, the UK Government has not only increased the frequency of auctions for funding through the Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme to annual events, expanding opportunities for industry players, but has also recently improved the contract conditions by elevating the strike price for the scheme.

The 2019 Offshore Wind Sector Deal propelled the transformation of the UK offshore wind supply chain, emphasising an industry pledge to achieve 60% local content by 2030, and an estimated 90,000 anticipated jobs in the UK offshore wind sector by 2030.

There has not been a better time to showcase your products and services at UK's most important meeting place for the offshore wind sector.
