Innovation Norway and the Royal Norwegian Consulate of New York hosted an Offshore Wind in New York Webinar on 10 April 2024. This webinar was geared toward Norwegian companies looking to learn more about offshore wind opportunities in the U.S., and more specifically in New York.
New York’s ambitious goal, mandated by law, of 9GW by 2035 will play an instrumental role in helping achieve the nationwide goal of 30GW by 2030. New York continues to make major strides in implementing its offshore wind program, providing a clear and consistent pathway for OSW project development and derisking investment in the continued growth of a domestic supply chain. Most recently, New York State awarded contracts for Empire Wind 1 (810 MW) and Sunrise Wind (924 MW), which are expected to be operational in 2026.
