Shelby Teknikk’s Norwegian shower solutions are built to last

In an industry often shaped by short product life cycles, the family-owned company Shelby Teknikk has chosen a different path: building shower solutions to last for decades, not seasons.
Since 1968, the company has designed, developed and manufactured solutions for the plumbing and sanitary sector. Its shower systems can be found in swimming pools, fitness centres, military facilities and other public buildings across Norway.
Now, Shelby Teknikk’s own-produced shower solutions have been awarded the Made in Norway label, an official recognition of the company’s focus on quality, durability and long-term value.
“We are committed to producing products of Norwegian quality, and we are pleased that there is now an official origin label that helps to promote Norwegian manufacturing.”

A family business that continues to innovate
Shelby Teknikk was founded in Egersund in 1968 by Jens G. Shelby and remains a family-owned business today. The company employs 11 people and operates its headquarters, warehouse and production facilities in Egersund. It also runs a showroom in Oslo, where customers can experience its bathroom designs first-hand.
From the beginning, a passion for quality craftsmanship, smart technical solutions and timeless design has shaped the company. Today, its portfolio includes designer products for the plumbing and sanitary sector, and architectural elements and sanitary solutions for industrial environments. The goal is clear: to be the preferred partner for Norwegian architects, real estate developers and plumbers seeking technically advanced solutions without compromising on design.
Tailormade shower systems manufactured in Norway
With production of the shower systems based in Egersund, Shelby Teknikk maintains control of the entire process, from concept and construction to finished product. This allows the company to customise solutions for each individual project while maintaining close relationships with customers throughout installation, service and follow-up.
Its shower systems are primarily delivered to sports halls, swimming pools, fitness centres and institutions. They are also installed in hotels, factories and other facilities that depend on reliable performance day after day and can be supplied to prisons and institutions in compliance with strict specifications.
The shower systems come with legionella flushing, hygiene flushing and accessible disability-friendly options.
“Our products contribute to hygiene and wellbeing. Indirectly, they also promote public health,” says Ronny Robertson Arntsen, General Manager of Shelby Teknikk.

Challenging the throwaway mentality
What if shower systems were designed to outlast the buildings they serve?
For Shelby Teknikk, that question has guided the company for decades. It takes a clear stand against the throwaway mentality that characterises many markets today, placing quality and durability at the centre of every decision.
Flexibility is another defining feature. When customers require a solution that does not yet exist, the company develops one and delivers it on schedule. Personal commitment is equally important. It is not uncommon for one of the owners to step in personally to solve a customer challenge when needed. Deep technical expertise and exceptional customer service remain at the heart of the business.
The power of Norwegian origin
Looking ahead, Shelby Teknikk believes that Made in Norway can become as recognisable and trusted as other international origin labels. It is also inspiring the company to develop new products worthy of carrying the label.
“We hope that using the label will encourage more Norwegian customers to choose us as their supplier. We also hope that our customers share the same values we do, so that together we can support one another,” concludes Robertson Arntsen.
