The new Satema SatCon backup power solution is designed for critical installations located in the most demanding Nordic environments. The enclosed solution offers maximum flexibility and reliability and is specially tailored to the data centre market, delivering power that operators can count on when downtime just isn’t an option.

SatCon enables the use of HVO100 biodiesel, a 100 per cent renewable fuel made from waste and residue streams that can cut CO₂ emissions by 90 per cent, helping data centre operators to improve resilience while taking a more forward-looking approach to energy management. Operators can also offer flexibility and capacity to the power grid when needed by participating in the flexibility market.

Furthermore, the solution offers the “Conscious Care maintenance programme” which keeps the generators in peak condition and strengthens resilience, while greatly reducing both the total cost of ownership and environmental impact.

Satema currently delivers mainly within the Nordic region, with Norway, Sweden and Finland as its primary target markets. Demand for data centres is growing dramatically in these markets, particularly for operating AI learning centres, as the cool Nordic climate and relatively low Nordic power prices are highly attractive.

Data centre operators are also keen to use local suppliers for the delivery of products and services to their data centres in order to contribute to local value creation, while also increasing incentives for local authorities to approve construction.
