Fibo’s waterproof wall systems combine quality, durability and design

More than 70 years of manufacturing experience have shaped the wall system Fibo produces today.
Founded in Lyngdal in 1952, Fibo has developed from a supplier to the shipbuilding industry into an international manufacturer of waterproof wall systems for homes and commercial buildings. Product development and manufacturing remain based at the company’s factory in Lyngdal, Norway.
Today, Fibo’s wet room wall panels carry the Made in Norway label, recognising a manufacturing heritage built over more than seven decades.
“Made in Norway is more than a country-of-origin label for us. It reflects the fact that our products are developed and manufactured here in Lyngdal, with close control of materials, production processes and quality throughout the entire process. ”
Gunnar Gabrielsen
Production Manager at Fibo
From ships to modern wet rooms
Fibo was founded in 1952 and initially produced panels for the shipbuilding industry. Over time, the technology and expertise developed into what Fibo is known for today: a complete waterproof wall system designed for demanding environments.
The same principles have remained central throughout the company’s history: durability, functionality and efficient installation.
Today, Fibo wall systems are used in private homes, schools, hospitals, hotels and a wide range of commercial buildings. With more than one million installations across Scandinavia, Europe and North America, the company has amassed extensive experience of how its products perform in everyday use.
All Fibo wall panels are manufactured at the company’s facility in Lyngdal, where products and production processes are continuously developed and refined.
“Having product development and manufacturing closely integrated gives us a major advantage. We can follow the product from raw materials through production and quality control, and continuously improve both the product itself and the way we manufacture it,” says Gabrielsen.
A waterproof wall system
Fibo wall panels are made with plywood and a high-pressure decorative laminate on the front, providing a robust waterproof surface. The panels are available in a wide range of colours, designs and finishes.
The panels are installed as part of Fibo’s complete waterproof wall system and feature the company’s integrated Aqualock system along the long edges. The click system allows panels to lock tightly together, helping create a secure, seamless installation while reducing installation time.

Norwegian manufacturing and quality control
For Fibo, Norwegian manufacturing is closely linked to quality control, product development and long-term performance.
At the Lyngdal factory, the company maintains control over key stages of the manufacturing process and works continuously to improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimise environmental impact.
“Our goal is to make products that perform reliably over many years. That requires consistent quality, stable processes and continuous improvement. Producing in our own factory gives us the control we need to achieve that,” explains Gabrielsen.
The Made in Norway label also has significance beyond the factory.
“For customers and partners in our international markets, Made in Norway helps communicate something important about who we are. Norwegian manufacturing is associated with quality, reliability and responsible production, and that supports the position we want Fibo to have in the market,” says Lars Kristiansen, Head of Marketing at Fibo.
International reach
Today, Fibo serves customers across Europe, the UK and North America, with its wall system used in both residential and commercial projects.
Customers range from homeowners and professional installers to merchants, contractors, architects, property developers and prefabricated building manufacturers.
Fibo’s waterproof wall system is designed to simplify both newbuild and renovation projects. The system enables fast installation and helps reduce construction time, while offering durable surfaces, low maintenance requirements and a broad choice of Scandinavian-inspired designs.
The result is a wall system developed and manufactured in Norway, designed for demanding environments and used by customers around the world.
