Vessel Insight from Kongsberg Digital enables users to unlock the value of their vessel data in a simple way by providing a secure and cost-effective vessel-to-cloud data infrastructure.
Digitalisation can help the maritime industry to improve vessel performance and safety and optimise fuel efficiency, among other things, enabling the industry to become more environmentally and economically sustainable.
However, although the number of digital solutions designed for the maritime industry has grown rapidly, the adoption rate is low. Standardisation has been a major challenge due to the complexity and customised integration of onboard systems and equipment. Moreover, the cost of securely accessing high-quality data from vessels has been prohibitive. These challenges call for a secure, common data infrastructure.
Vessel Insight provides a vessel-to-cloud data infrastructure, enabling users to capture and aggregate high-quality data from their fleet in a secure, cost-effective manner.
The solution provides onshore and on-site staff involved in fleet management and operations with instant, easy access to fleet overviews, vessel-specific dashboards and data analysis tools.
The data is transferred from the vessel to the cloud via Kongsberg Digital’s Kognifai platform, an open ecosystem that provides real-time data management and profound insights based on data aggregation.
Kognifai Marketplace, meanwhile, offers users access to a wide range of applications and services, from basic administrative tools to advanced vessel performance applications.
Vessel Insight is a subscription-based service, consisting of both hardware and software, which keeps costs low. The solution supports a broad range of vessel control systems and protocols, and the open ecosystem makes it easy to integrate with supply partners and other data services.
Vessel Insight features built-in cybersecurity to ensure confidentiality and authorised access to data. It also provides users with full data control and transparency.
Kongsberg Digital estimates the addressable commercial marine market for the next five years at 30 000 vessels.
The company is part of the leading international technology group Kongsberg Gruppen, one of Norway’s largest and oldest companies.
