At a glance

  • One-piece gasket in metal matched to the flange
  • Gastight, fireproof and blowout-proof seal
  • Long lifespan, can be recycled

The DeltaV-Seal gasket safeguards employees, assets and the environment at industrial production facilities where liquids or gases are kept under pressurised control.

Numerous industries require a pressurised piping network for transportation and processing. Secure production and environmental protection depends on the integrity of this network. Potential weak points around the flange assembly must be constantly monitored for leakage of volatile substances or production by-products.

In a chemical processing facility, a leaky seal can release caustic, corrosive and even deadly substances. In an oil and gas processing facility, a leak may release fugitive emissions of flammable substances, and these facilities often have designated ATEX Zones.

Two-part gaskets, such as spiral wound gaskets, have traditionally been used as piping seals at these types of facilities. They are, however, prone to weaknesses caused by manufacturing and assembly failures, deformation, corrosion and degradation.

Flange gasket for preventing fugitive emissions and microleaks

The DeltaV-Seal™ replaces standard two-part gaskets. It is made from a single piece of metal that is matched to the material specifications of the flange itself, thereby eliminating the weakest point in a flange assembly. As a result, the seal will never degrade, change properties or require retorquing during its operational lifecycle. It is effectively gastight, fireproof, blowout proof, and tolerates extreme temperature fluctuations.

The DeltaV-Seal is the world’s first DNV type approved gasket. It is also rated as durably technically tight, thereby eliminating ATEX Zones 0, 1 and 2.

Concrete benefits

Leaks from failing gaskets can lead to release of greenhouse gases, environmental exposures that negatively affect human health, risk of fire or explosion, and product or efficiency losses. The DeltaV-Seal™ prevents leaks by producing sealing strengths 10 000 times stronger than industry requirements.

Moreover, in most applications, the DeltaV-Seal will last as long as the flange, pipe or joint itself. As a result, the lifespan of flanges may also be significantly extended, cutting costs associated with replacements and planned shutdowns.

Market potential

The estimated addressable market size within the next six years for DeltaV-Seal is USD 25 billion per year based on projections for sales of solid and spiral wound gaskets in 2026.
