BeWizor utilises AI to help users to maximise the value and lifespan of their belongings. Free and easy to use, it provides instant insights, allowing people to save money, reduce waste and live more sustainably.
Overconsumption poses a threat to the planet. It depletes resources, generates pollution and accelerates climate change. Mitigating this will require systemic changes in production and consumption and the transition to a circular economy.
Consumers can play a role in shifting consumption patterns, but there has been a lack of accessible, user-friendly tools to help individuals to effectively manage and maximise the value of their belongings.
BeWizor is an app that provides users with an effortless way to catalogue their items, assess their value and extend their lifespan. Users photograph their possessions and using AI, the app recognises the item, assesses its value and generates useful details about it. The AI feature also provides information about the carbon footprint of belongings to help consumers make more sustainable choices.
Beyond inventory and warranty tracking, the app delivers practical tips on how to care for your possessions. Additionally, BeWizor’s group-sharing feature fosters resource-sharing to reduce waste and support a sustainable circular economy.
BeWizor offers customers a seamless way to catalogue, track, and extend the lifespan of their belongings. It provides tips for proper care and maintenance, helping users to protect and maximise the value of their assets.
The group-sharing feature allows users to lend and borrow items within their communities, reducing the need for unnecessary purchases and fostering resource-sharing. This directly benefits the environment by minimising waste, decreasing overconsumption and promoting the circular economy.
In the future the app will also consist of a marketplace to encourage sustainable practices like renting and second-hand trading, further reducing environmental impact.
The circular economy market was valued at USD 556 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach USD 1323.5 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.2 per cent from 2024 to 2030.
Moreover, consumer interest in sustainable products is on the rise. A study by McKinsey & Company found that products marketed as sustainable grew 2.7 times faster than those that were not. Additionally, 78 per cent of consumers feel that sustainability is important, and sustainable products have a 17 per cent market share, contributing to 32 per cent of market growth (The Round Up).
Despite these positive trends, a significant value-action gap exists: while consumers express a desire for sustainable products, this does not always translate into purchasing behaviour. Factors such as cost, convenience and availability play crucial roles in consumer decisions. BeWizor aims to fill the value-action gap consumers feel with an accessible solution to support the circular economy.
BeWizor has divided its target audience into two segments with two different demographics and psychographics and a similar geographic: ‘The Average Joe’ (40+ years, all genders, lower-middle to upper class) and ‘The Scan Gen’ (25-40 years, all genders).
The app is available in 49 countries, but current focus is on the US and UK markets.
