Kernel AS, Norway’s largest eHealth group, brings together some of the country’s most innovative environments within digital health.

Driven by innovation and professional excellence, Norwegian development teams are taking healthcare technology to a new level – creating solutions designed for safer and more sustainable health services.

Now, four of Kernel’s subsidiaries – DIPS, Aidn, Deepinsight and Sonett – have been officially awarded the Made in Norway certification, a clear testament to the fact that critical healthcare technology can be developed and managed right here at home.

We’re proud to be part of Norway’s world-class digital industry.

Norway’s leading eHealth group showcases home-grown innovation

Kernel employs around 600 people across development hubs throughout Norway.
The group develops solutions ranging from electronic health records (EHRs) for hospitals, municipalities and dental services, to advanced AI tools for improved decision support and more efficient resource use.

A shared vision unites all Kernel companies: to simplify the workday for healthcare professionals, strengthen patient safety, and contribute to a more sustainable healthcare system – with technology developed in Norway, for Norway.

“Developing healthcare technology in Norway is about innovation, preparedness and social responsibility. The Made in Norway label demonstrates that the future of healthcare technology can – and should – be built here at home,” says Morten Moe Gjendemsjø, CEO of Aidn.

Electronic health records for a more sustainable healthcare system

Aidn has developed an intuitive EHR platform that combines record-keeping and collaboration – simple, efficient and secure.
The system has been built in close cooperation with healthcare professionals in Norwegian municipalities, and integrates seamlessly with both national health components and third-party systems.

The goal is simple: to make it easier to provide high-quality care – and safer to be a patient.

“Many of our competitors develop their solutions outside Norway. We’re proud to demonstrate that Aidn is entirely Norwegian – built locally in collaboration with the people who actually use it. The Made in Norway label makes it easier to communicate that identity,” says Gjendemsjø.

Aidn also invests heavily in artificial intelligence and decision support, all delivered as cloud-based subscription services with one clear goal: making care delivery simpler, and patients safer.

The backbone of Norway’s hospitals

Also part of the group is DIPS, Norway’s leading provider of patient record systems and eHealth solutions for the specialist healthcare sector.
Over 85% of Norwegian hospitals rely on DIPS solutions – ensuring efficient treatment, secure information flow, and seamless collaboration across all levels of care.

“When hospitals and healthcare professionals use DIPS, they can be confident they’re working with solutions developed in Norway – by experts who understand the healthcare system, the language, and the regulations. Made in Norway is a mark of quality that confirms exactly that,” says Falkenberg-Jensen.

DIPS is also investing heavily in artificial intelligence, developing a dedicated AI platform with secure models, agents, and user interfaces to help healthcare staff work smarter and more efficiently.

Norwegian data intelligence empowering healthcare

“The Made in Norway label will help make the value created by Norwegian health technology even more visible,” says Olav Haugå, CEO of Deepinsight.

Deepinsight develops advanced AI and analytics solutions that make hospital operations more efficient – improving planning, resource management and reducing patient waiting times.

“For Deepinsight, the origin mark serves as a positive differentiator – both when engaging with Norway’s healthcare sector and as we expand internationally,” adds Haugå.

Digital transformation for dental health

“For us, it’s important to show that we’re a Norwegian product, developed in Norway for the Norwegian dental sector. Made in Norway is visible proof of our Norwegian origin,” says Svein Williassen, CEO of Sonett.

Sonett is developing a new cloud-based EHR system for dental health services – a sector that has long lagged behind the rest of healthcare in digitalisation.

Through integration with national health infrastructure, Sonett is helping connect dental care more closely with the wider healthcare ecosystem.
The solution is being developed in close collaboration with dentists and other professionals, with the goal of making everyday work simpler, safer, and more efficient.

Building the future of health technology – together

For the Kernel companies, the Made in Norway certification represents more than origin – it embodies trust, quality, and national resilience.
It confirms that Norwegian health technology is developed in line with national standards for privacy and data security, with users closely involved throughout the process.

“We care deeply about Norwegian quality and presence, innovation and responsibility. Made in Norway shows that the future of healthcare technology is being built here – for the benefit of both patients and healthcare professionals,” says Falkenberg-Jensen.
